New ruins Discovered at Mary Palace Dating Back to 3rd Millennium BC

Deir-Ezzor , (SANA)- Excavation works at Mary site near Boukamal city led to the discovery of archeological pieces at the Palace of Zimri Lim. Director of Deir-Ezzor ruins Department said that a memorial of the foundation of the Red Bloc in the servants residence section at Mary Palace and date back to 3rd Millennium BC, was discovered . A cuneiform indicates the date of the Red Bloc foundation and its dimensions are 12x 14 cm. At the same site a nail of 25cm in length was found and was used to fix a piece of bronze in the wall of the building . The city of Mary is considered one of the most important archeological sites in Euphrates valley and the excavation works are on for several years now. A.N.Idelbi
