New ruins Discovered at Mary Palace Dating Back to 3rd Millennium BC

Excavation works at Mary site near Boukamal city led to the discovery of archeological pieces at the Palace of Zimri Lim.
Director of Deir-Ezzor ruins Department said that a memorial of the foundation of the Red Bloc in the servants residence section at Mary Palace and date back to 3rd Millennium BC, was discovered . A cuneiform indicates the date of the Red Bloc foundation and its dimensions are 12x 14 cm.
At the same site a nail of 25cm in length was found and was used to fix a piece of bronze in the wall of the building .
The city of Mary is considered one of the most important archeological sites in Euphrates valley and the excavation works are on for several years now.
