The National Mission Completes Restoration of Part of Palmyra Fence

PALMYRA, (SANA)_ The national archaeological mission in Directorate of Antiquities and Museums in Palmyra recently terminated works of excavation and repair of the northern defensive archaeological fence.

Director of Palmyra Antiquities and Museums Walid As'ad said that the mission re-built and restored part of the fence, stone walls and its circle towers that were used to defend the city, pointing out that the mission found a number of half stone statues and heads used as fillings in the body of wall.

The national mission during the last season had built about one hundred meters of this fence and found an important set of sculptures and heads of stone statues.
