Syrian, Foreign Archeological Teams Start Work in Several sites in Syria

Homs, central Syria, (SANA)- The Italian archeological team working at Tal Mishrfeh in the central governorate of Homs started its seasonal work on Tuesday.

The Italian team will continue previous works and excavations at the site which began over the past few years. Also the German expedition will continue work at the same
site.

Head of Homs Directorate of Ruins Farid Jabbour said the German team activities at Tal Qatana, Mishrfeh, will lat till the end of September and the Italian till October.

Mr. Jabbour added that the Syrian-British expedition has ended archeological survey works west of Homs on Missiaf Highway to excavate new archeological sites.

He said the Syrian-Spanish team also ended survey works in Baqi'a Plain as well as some archeological burial sites, pointing out that another Syrian-Lebanese team will start as early as next week topographical survey works in Liftaya area.
