DAMASCUS, SANA _Prime Minister Mohammed Naji Ottri on Wednesday reviewed with Iraqi Irrigation Minister Abdul Latif Rashid cooperation between the two countries and means of developing it in the economic, developmental, waters and energy domains. Talks during the meeting dealt with the importance of the regional technical cooperation among Syria, Turkey and Iraq and coordinating joint efforts in investing water resources in a way that meets their developmental needs. Later, Irrigation Minister Nader al-Buni discussed with Rashid prospects of joint cooperation in the waters and water resources fields and benefiting from the scientific and technical expertise between the two countries. Talks also touched upon means of facing draught due to the lack of rain in the region, in addition to the meeting of the Troika Syrian, Turkish and Iraqi Waters Committee on September and its role in enhancing cooperation among the three neighboring countries. Al-Buni expressed Syria's readiness to offer all available aid to Iraq in the waters field. For his part, Rashid underlined the importance of the periodical meetings between the two sides to reach good outcome in the interest of the two countries. H.Zain/ Zahra |
