Austrian Ambassador in Japan: Palmyra Unique Man-Made Miracle

Palmyra, central Syria (SANA)- The Austrian ambassador in Japan Utah Stefan Bastel described the Syrian ancient city of Palmyra as a unique man-made miracle, adding that Palmyra has become an important tourist destination for tourists, scholars and those interested in history and culture.

Ambassador Bastel told SANA staff writer during her visit to Palmyra with a group of researchers and experts in archeology that she was happy to visit this significant milestone in the Syrian Badia.

She expressed the hope that cultural institutions, intellectuals and archeological experts across the world show more cooperation to present Palmyra ruins to the new generations. 

Head of the German archeological mission Professor Schmidt Colonel accompanied Ms. Bastel in her Palmyra visit and presented a detailed explanation of the city's ancient history and ruins.
