Damascus, (SANA)- President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday morning received His Holiness Catholicos Aram I of Great Kilikia of the Armenian Orthodox.

His Holiness congratulated President al-Assad on the occasion of holy Ramadan month, highly appreciating the spirit of fraternity, tolerance and national unity enjoyed by Syria throughout history, making Syria the optimal example for the whole world.

His Holiness added that Syria, which received everybody and provided safety and serenity for them, has flourished more and more under President al-Assad's leadership.

For his part, President al-Assad stressed the importance of clergymen in enhancing the culture of dialogue and consolidating the noble values of religions in societies.
