Damascus, (SANA) – Experts from the Arab League’s Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) discussed here on Monday the Arab Strategic Document for Talent and Creativity.
The plan is part of the framework of the plan for developing education in Arab countries, which was adopted by the Arab Summit in Damascus last March.
The document discusses the major goals and pioneering experiments in the field of creativity and talent, in addition to including an analysis of the state of talent and creativity in the Arab world.
The document also proposes an Arab strategy that extends to 2025, covering goals, programs and mechanisms for execution and following-up plans.
Talks during the meeting stressed the importance of caring for the Arabic language, in addition to discussing the development of scientific creativity and systematic thought.
They also pointed out to the importance of developing the ability to perceive future implications, change and reject set types that deter creativity and scientific research, handle basic problems using scientific methods, and finding mechanisms for selecting talented and creative individuals.
In a statement to SANA, ALESCO Representative Dr. Lattouf al-Abdullah stressed the importance of this strategy which meets the resolutions of Arab Ministers of Education conferences. He added that the strategy is a result of a number of studies conducted by Arab intellectuals who studied international and Arab experiences.
In turn, member of the Arabic Language Assembly and ALESCO expert Dr. Mahmoud al-Sayyed affirmed the importance of the Arab Strategic Document for Talent and Creativity, pointing out that the ALESCO has implemented a strategy for developing Arab education, a strategy for early childhood, a strategy for science and technology and a comprehensive plan for Arab culture.
ALESCO is a Tunis-based organization dedicated to the affairs of education, culture and communication, with centers in Syria, Morocco, Egypt and Sudan.
