DAMASCUS, (SANA) _ The monthly exhibition of Thousand and One Masterpieces opened Friday at the National Museum of Damascus.
The one-month exhibition included a group of sculptures which date back to the Ummayad era and were unearthed during the exploration works in the western Al-Hir Palace, Qaser al-Hir al-Sharqi.
The exhibition was accompanied by a scientific debate about importance of this exhibition under the supervision of Director of Museums at the Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums Mrs. Mona al-Muazn and a musical celebration included a series of music pieces.
This monthly exhibition is organized by the General Secretariat of "Damascus: Capital of Arab Culture 2008" festivity, in cooperation with Directorate General of Ruins and Museums.
