Minister of Information , Mohsen Bilal discussed on Saturday with Palestinian Minister of Culture , Tahani Abu-Daka ways of activating bilateral cooperation in the preparations for festivity of Jerusalem as the Arab cultural capital for the year 2009.
During the meeting bilal stressed the importance of the denotation of the festivity of Jerusalem as the Arab cultural capital next year in consolidating the status of the sacred city and in underlining its Arab identity.
The minister reiterated Syria's support to the Palestinian people and their right to return and establish their own independent state with Jerusalem as its capital and underlining the necessity to restore the Palestinian national unity since it is the only way to attain that goal.
