Damascus, (SANA)- President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday issued the legislative Decree No. 56 for the year 2008 which allows the Customs Department, upon a decision from the Finance Minister, to Purchase manufactured goods ready for the final consumption according to customs statements.

The Decree states for setting up committees under decisions taken by the Finance Minister to evaluate the purchased goods, and committees to sell these goods in public auctions or by way of direct sale.

The Decree also allows the importers, under a decision from the Finance Minister, to re-export the imported goods only to the country of origin after paying a fine, estimated at double the duties.
