Interior Minister, Maj.Gen. Bassam Abdul-Majeed discussed in Ankara today with his Turkish counterpart, Beshir Atalay ways of cooperation in sphere of combating drugs trafficking, organized crime and illegal migration .
During the meeting , Abdul- Majeed stressed the necessity for combating terrorism stressing that Syria was among the first countries which suffered from terrorism.
In a statement to reporters , Abdul-Majeed indicated that his current visit to Syria came in the framework of boosting the standing bilateral relations which are considered as an example to follow.
For his part, the Turkish minister expressed pleasure over the standing bilateral cooperation underlining the standing bilateral historical friendly relations between the two countries.
Abdul-Majeed earlier, visited Anti –Narcotics and Organized Crime International Academy in Ankara , and Special Police Forces Training Center.
Abdul-Majeed arrived in Ankara yesterday in a several –day visit to Turkey responding to an invitation extended by his Turkish counterpart.
