Tehran, (SANA) – President Bashar al-Assad received in his residence in Tehran on Sunday separately Secretary of Iran's Supreme Council of National Security Saeed Jalili and Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.
Talks during President al-Assad's meeting with Jalili dealt with the Iranian nuclear file and the correspondences and talks between Iran and the G6, with Jalili briefing President al-Assad on the Iranian position in that regard.
President al-Assad affirmed the right of countries to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
President al-Assad's meeting with Mottaki focused on means for bolstering economic, investment and commercial cooperation between Syria and Iran.
For his part, Minister Mottaki expressed the Iranian government's desire to expand joint projects and establish new ones to serve the interests of the two countries and peoples.
Talks also dealt with the results of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Foreign Ministers' meeting which was recently held in Tehran, affirming the need to develop the role of the NAM to serve its goals.
The meetings were attended by members of the Syrian and Iranian delegations.
