Paris, (SANA)-French Foreign Ministry Spokesman Roman Nadal has underlined that Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdullah al-Dardari's visit to Paris comes within the framework of developing and boosting relations between the two countries and also in the frame of the recent visit of President Bashar al-Assad to France.
Nadal pointed out Monday that al-Dardari's visit will provide the opportunity to review the ongoing reforms in Syria, and to discuss the Syrian-French bilateral cooperation and the preparations for visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy to Damascus in September.
French Foreign Ministry statement indicated that meeting of a-Dardari with French Minister of State for European Affairs Jean-Pierre Jouyet concentrated on launching cooperation between the European Union and Syria , particularly through activating draft of the association agreement which was signed by the initials in 2004 during which France, the current President of the EU, wants to put the final touches as soon as possible.
Visit of al-Dardari aims at implementation of the resolutions issued by the summit that was held between the two Presidents al-Assad and Sarkozy in Paris, on activating and enhancing the bilateral relations in the political, economic and cultural domains.
