Tunis, (SANA)- Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Ottri on Tuesday visited Tunis International Center for Environmental Technologies (CITET).
Ottri and the accompanying delegation were briefed on departments of the center including the labs, equipment and modern technological units.
Otri was listened to an explanation offered by Environment and Sustainable Development Minister Nadhir Hamada on growth indicators in Tunis, work and activities of the Tunisian establishments concerned with environment and sustainable development.
This visit comes within the framework of Ottri's visit to Tunis to chair the Syrian side to the meetings of the Syrian -Tunisian Joint Higher Committee.
The Center is devoted to the environmental protection and the sustainable management of natural resources. It conducts a variety of activities: training and building of capacities, applied research and eco-technologies transfer, technical assistance to industry and promotion of clean technologies, laboratory analysis, information and publication.
The CITET established in 1996 within the framework of the recommendations made by the Rio de Janeiro Conference, CITET has been assigned the task of promoting environmental learning, knowledge and technologies, working for the transfer of such technologies from the North to the South and adapting them to local conditions with a view to ensuring their South to South transfer, as part of a triangular partnership.
