Syria and Turkey to develop land transportation

DAMASCUS, (SANA)-Minister of Transport Ya'arub Badr on Monday said  the meetings of Syrian-Turkish Technical committee for land transportation ,concluded toady, dealt with issues related to increasing facilitations of land transportation between the two countries to boost trade exchange volume.

"Both sides also discussed aspects of future cooperation in the fields of land, air, maritime and railways transportation," Badr said in a statement to SANA, adding that Turkish Airlines seek to increase its flights between Aleppo and Istanbul to 5 time per week.

On railways, the Minister said the two sides reviewed measures to begin running train lines between Aleppo and Gaziantep, expecting the line will be running during the first quarter of 2009.
