Damascus,(SANA)-President Bashar al-Assad received a letter from Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the investments and joint projects which boost up these relations in all fields.
The letter was conveyed by Turkish Minister of Transport Binali Yildirim during the meeting with President al-Assad on Monday.
President al-Assad had already met Erdogan following his participation in the four-way summit, held in Damascus early September along with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa AL Thani. President al-Assad and Erdogan discussed then the bilateral relations between their two countries and Turkey's efforts for helping establish peace in the Middle East.
The continuous official visits between the two countries reflect depth of the existing ties and keenness on further strengthening them for the best benefit of Syria and Turkey and the region's security and stability.
The Syrian-Turkish ties has witnessed considerable momentum over the past few years as the volume of trade exchanges bypassed USD one billion for the first time in their cooperation. Both countries seek to bring this volume to USD two billions by the end of this year.
