President al-Assad Performs Eid al-Fitr Prayers at Umayyad Grand Mosque

DAMASWCUS,(SANA)_ President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday performed Eid al-Fitr Prayers at Umayyad Grand Mosque in Damascus.

Upon arrival to the Mosque, President al-Assad was welcomed by Minister of Religious Endowments (Awkaf), Syria's Grand Mufti, Assistant Secretary General of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, The Party Regional Secretary, Deputy Chairman of the Progressive National Front, the People's Assembly Speaker and the Prime Minister.

Following Eid al-Fitr sermon, the president accepted the felicitations from the worshippers and then left the mosque.

Senior government and party officials and senior military commanders also performed Eid alFitr prayers along with President. Al-Assad.
