The meeting which was held this morning between Syrian Foreign Minister , Walid Moalem , and a delegation representing the French Senate headed by Chairman of the French –Syrian Parliamentary Friendship Group, Philippe Marini , dealt with bilateral relations between Syria and France and ways of boosting them in all spheres , in addition to the role of the friendship group in boosting bilateral relations of friendship.
Talks also dealt with the situation in the Middle East and the efforts that are being exerted for the achievement of peace and stability in the region.
For his part, Martini underlined the need for boosting bilateral relations on all levels particularly following the President Bashar al-Assad's visit to France which stressed Syria's pivotal role in the Middle East.
