Damascus, (SANA) – Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem received on Tuesday a phone call from Italy's Minister of Foreign Affairs Franco Frattini during which they discussed the bilateral relations and regional developments, particularly the peace process and the Syrian-Israeli track.

Minister al-Moallem affirmed that the indirect talks between Syria and Israel aim to prepare the groundwork for direct talks for achieving just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

For his part, Frattini affirmed Italy's support to the Syrian track of the peace process and his country's determination to back these talks until they achieve their goals.
