Damascus, (SANA) - Chairman of the Turkish-Syrian Parliamentary Friendship Association Mohammad Shander affirmed on Tuesday the need to develop the roles of the Association and MPs from both countries in supporting and encouraging the private sector and increasing the exchange of investments between Syria and Turkey.
During around of talks held at the People's Assembly, Shander pointed out that the free trade agreement between the two countries contributed to increasing trade exchange, affirming that the Turkish and Arab Businessmen Council will help bring more Turkish investors to Syria in the near future.
Shander underlined the Association's role in revitalizing economic, cultural and tourist cooperation between the two countries and in bolstering Syrian-Turkish ties in various fields.
For his part, Chairman of the Syrian-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Committee at the People's Assembly Ismat Mahli pointed out that the two countries' desire to develop relation is being realized through the increasing trade exchange, stressing the need for constant consultations among MPs from both countries to coordinate stances in international circles.
Members of the Turkish delegation accompanying Mr. Shander expressed hope that the two countries will work together to face challenges and pressures aiming to weaken their regional role, praising Syria's stances and its commitment to achieving security and stability in the region.
They also affirmed the Association's commitment to bolstering relations with Syria in all fields.
