Damascus, (SANA) – Minister of Interior General Bassam Abdulmajid discussed on Saturday with Interpol Executive Director of Police Services Jean-Michel Louboutin means for bolstering cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the Interpol through the Damascus Interpol National center.
General Abdulmajid affirmed his Ministry's commitment to continuing and expanding cooperation with Interpol due to its belief in the importance of international police cooperation in fighting terrorism and organized crime.
The Minister reviewed Syria's counter-terrorism efforts, affirming Syria's refusal of all forms of terrorism and its commitment to bolstering international cooperation for fighting it.
For his part, Louboutin pointed out that Syria is listed among the most cooperative countries in dealing with the Interpol, affirming the organization's commitment to supporting the Damascus Interpol National Center to carry out the project for connecting national centers databases at border checkpoints with the central database at the Interpol Secretariat General.
Louboutin also expressed his appreciation of Syria's hosting of a conference for combining efforts for fighting terrorism in the region, which will be held on June in Damascus.
