African Union Chairperson Visits Syria

DAMASCUS, (SANA)-Chairperson of the African Union Commission Jean Ping started Wednesday a visit to Damascus during which he will discuss with the Syrian senior officials the situations in the Middle East, the African continent and means of solving the disputes facing the two regions.

Mr. Ping was welcomed at Damascus International Airport by Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Fayssal al-Mikdad.

Syria is an observer at the African Union.
