Damascus, (SANA) – The Regional Leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party issued a statement on Wednesday on the 60th anniversary of the occupation of Palestine.
The statement pointed out that the anniversary coincides with aggressive attacks and increasing politics of occupation and hegemony against the Arab nation and its national causes. The anniversary also comes at a time when decisions of international legitimacy are being ignored and when policies of double-standards are being adopted, adding that the unipolarity led by the United States continues to distort facts and encourage extermination, division and discord in the Arab scene.
The Regional Leadership underlined the Palestinian people's historic right to reclaim their land and establish a Palestinian state and their right to return to their homeland and refuse settlement.
The statement called on the world's nations to support Palestine and the establishing of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, calling all free people in the world to support the Palestinian's struggle against Israeli aggression and uncover Israel's racist nature.
The statement goes on to affirm that the Arab-Israeli conflict is the main issue, and that the Arab people's will for liberation and struggle affirms the continuation of the resistance until Palestine, the Golan and Shiba farms are restored and until the occupation forces leave Iraq.
It added that the current reality calls for adhering to the Arab national project which requires bolstering Arab solidarity and supporting Arab common work, and this embodies the Party's course and the directives and standards of Syria under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.
The statement concluded by refusing occupation and aggression and refusing to surrender to the will of foreign forces, and that Syria has faith in the people's will which will be victorious and defeat pressures and challenges.
