Damascus, (SANA) – The Palestinian committee for commemorating the anniversary of Palestine's occupation organized on Wednesday a sit-in in front of the European Commission headquarters in Damascus to affirm their adherence to the Palestinian people's just rights.
Participants carried banners calling for continuing struggle until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and affirming commitment to the right of return and refusal of settling. They also condemned Israel's massacres against Palestinians and the international silence regarding them.
Participants delivered a memo to representatives of the United Nations, the European Union, the Red Cross and the Arab League in Damascus, calling on them to assume their responsibilities and end the tragedy of the Palestinian people in compliance with international law and UN decrees that affirm the Palestinian people's right of self-determination and the Palestinian refugees to return to their homeland.
The memos pointed out that Israel has been refusing to apply UN resolutions for 60 years and acts as if it's above international law, and that it continues its daily aggression and criminal practices against the Palestinian people.
In a statement, participants in the sit-in said that Israel failed to break the will of the Palestinian people despite constant Israeli aggression against them, calling for immediate action to lift the unjust siege imposed in the Palestinian people and stressing the need for Palestinian national unity.
