DAMASCUS,(SANA)- 8th Conference of the Syrian-American Medical Association continued activates on Tuesday by holding a number of medical sessions and lectures concentrating on the patient's rights, improvement of the medical care, medical mistakes in addition to nervous and psychological diseases.
Chairman of the Scientific Committee at the Conference Dr. Mohammad Abdul-Kareem Sukariah said "the importance of the conference lies in its practical and theoretical activities which covered all the Syrian cities."
In a statement to SANA reporter, Dr. Sukariah indicated to the Association role in providing information and medical services in addition to discussing health system issues and whatever may improve the health sector and boost performance of doctors and service level.
The Association's member and the Specialized in Internal Diseases Dr. Zafir Jawish stressed that the Syrian Doctor in America enjoys respect due to his faithfulness, distinguished work and following up the medical and research issues.
He pointed out to charitable activities by the Association aiming at offering help to the Syrian charity associations, clarifying that this conference constitutes an opportunity to communicate with homeland and with doctors in Syria to exchange expertise and information.
The Conference was kicked off on Monday under the title of "Globalization and its Effects on Medicine and General Health." in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Higher Education, Doctors Syndicate and the Military Medical Services.
